Cookie policy
Last updated September 2026. The list below is kept accurate to what the site actually sets, and is updated the moment that changes.
Public tools
The tools directory, tool pages, and API set no cookies on their own. Our own product analytics (which tools are used, how often) is cookie-free — it doesn’t identify you or your browser at all, just counts categorized events. The one exception is described next.
Session replay (optional)
If enabled, a banner asks whether you’ll allow Microsoft Clarity to record session replay/heatmap data to help us improve the tools. Your choice (Accept/Decline) is remembered in your browser’s local storage, not a cookie. Clarity itself only loads, and only sets its own cookies, after you Accept:
_clck— identifies your browser across visits so a session can be reconstructed for replay. Persists roughly a year._clsk— identifies the current browsing session. Expires after about a day of inactivity.
Everything you type into or see in a tool’s input or output is masked before it ever reaches Clarity, regardless of this choice — see our privacy policy. Declining, or closing the banner without choosing, means Clarity never loads and neither cookie is ever set.
Admin area
The protected admin area (not publicly accessible) uses a single, secure, HttpOnly, SameSite session cookie to keep an authorized administrator signed in. It is strictly necessary for that feature to function and is not used for tracking.
